i made a little stop on the way home last night, since the hubs was working late...and lo and behold, i found myself something. shocking right, me, shopping? i'll give you a sec to get over the surprise.
anyhoo...here's what i got...
it's just a black cotton dress, has an eyelet look to it...with a little ruffle on the botton and lace-type trim around the top and bottom.
now, let me preface this by saying this dress set me back all of FOURTEEN DOLLARS. and yes...i'll admit to you dear girls...it's from walmart. i was as shocked as you! so cute! so cheap!
but....
also so big. i don't think a size down will fit me around the boob area...but in the body part, it's got LOTS of room. so excuse the horrid picture, and my bathrobe in the photo...but does it look like i'm humongous?? the hubs says it looks fine...and for $14, a little breezy room won't be bad this summer.
maybe i'm just not used to wearing bigger flowy dresses, cuz i felt like i could hide toddlers in there, like in the nutcracker.
what are your thoughts on my super cheap score? keep it? take it back?

From that picture, I think I like it. I actually bought a similar dress the other day from Target and I was worried that it might be a little too tenty also. I think you should listen to hubs. It was only $14 after all and breezy is great when it gets warm outside. :)
hmmm... I'd probably take it back and find something better for $14. BUT, if it's out of the way to take it back, and more of a pain than it's worth... you could always keep it just to wear it around the house or as a cover-up.
It is hard to tell what it looks like in the picture, but from what I can tell it is a cute dress. For $14 I would keep it as a beach or lazy day dress if I was worried about wearing it out and about.
Keep it for a day, when you want something not binding. I think it's cute. Can't beat $14.
Tenty, cracks me up. You are hilarious. New word for my Bumpkin vocabulary.
Love it! It looks so comfortable, and even though it's tenty, black is still flattering. $14! You're a great shopper!
Keep it!! If anything use it as a beach cover up!!!
Eh, I don't know. I don't find it that flattering unless you can commit it to a bathing suit cover-up. I deem it too cute for a cover-up so I say take it back. Put that $14 toward a new Cricut cartridge.
Maybe too baggy for wearing out but you could always use it as a pool coverup! It's cute though, and for $14 you can't beat that!
I like it... I may have to go buy it!
It'd be great for hot summer days!
P.S. Callaway was gorgeous as always. There was a wedding going on in the chapel!
It looks good! As soon as I saw the picture I knew it was from Walmart! It's one of my favorite places to shop for dresses! In fact I bought a couple that were very similar and I'm thinking about getting the same one in the coral color! I figure even if it wears out after one season it didn't cost much. I still have several different ones from Walmart that still look great from last year!
It's cute, Hayley! I had a linen dress like that, and whenever I felt like it was too tenty, I belted it with a wide belt, and it worked out great!
it's cute but it does look a wee bit big and with black that should never be the case.
think about it for a couple days and then decide.
but for $14, hoo-ahh! not too shabby!
I personally don't think it flatters very much. It's a cute dress but I know you would look amazing in something different. $14 isn't breaking the bank but it's still money! If you don't LOVE it, I would get your money back. :)
