If you leave the carpeting on or recarpet before the underlying wood is dry, you run a high risk of developing some serious mold.

We had a small one that we caught after a few minutes, and only a small partion of the carpet right near the bathroom got wet, and we were able to avoid the whole ripping up the carpet fiasco. But seeing the pawprints, you definitley have serious water damage...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118179449625068049.post-5240272704286123192010-08-26T14:19:13.907-04:002010-08-26T14:19:13.907-04:00Oh crap!! I've never dealt with a flooded carpet, but I did deal with a flooded ceiling (snow backed up the drains on the roof and the water had no where to go as it melted...except for into my living room). I wish I had any advice for you. *hug*Salthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03040383509137140216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118179449625068049.post-40916329413045167522010-08-26T14:13:10.731-04:002010-08-26T14:13:10.731-04:00That sucks! It was a bit of a hassle because we moved in like a day though. I just remember they had to pull up the carpets and put a big dryer in to make sure there was no moisture left in the pads. Hope it doesn't turn into too big of a fix for you guys!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
